Olympic ABA is a home/community-based therapy service located on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in rural Washington state based in Jefferson and Clallam Counties. We provide joyful learning to create lasting positive change in the lives of children birth to 18 years old with autism spectrum disorder and their families.
ABA Olympic ABA has been operating since 2016. The business is owned by a BCBA who has more than 30 years’ experience working with children and families as a teacher, educator, and trainer.
Our philosophy is based on compassionate care. We incorporate the strategies of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for ABA, Practical Functional Assessment and Skill-Based Training, and principles of assent ABA. We have particular expertise in assisting children and families with the most challenging behavior.
Current Openings BCBAs and RBTs:

This position includes providing clinical services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders, including designing, implementing, and modifying direct intervention and instructional programs to children and teens using evidence-based interventions and providing direct parent training to family members while maintaining paperwork and notes in a timely and organized manner.
Expectations of work per week:
Clinical duties 65% approximately (26 hrs/40 hr week)
Programmatic duties 35%
Clinical duties are direct services. This is defined as anything reimbursable from insurance companies, including:
Direct services to families as part of a preauthorized evaluation
Writing notes when on the premises where you are working with a family
Supervision - when on the premises where you are working with a family Parent training in person (some telehealth my be approved with special permission)
Parent training in person (some telehealth my be approved with special permission)
Program modification - updating graphs and modifying programs when on the premises where you are providing services and as part of an approved treatment plan that includes codes H0032 or 97155.
Team meetings when part of code H0032 or 99366 or 99368
Meeting with RBT outside of session limited to 30 minutes per week (exceptions approved upon request)
Programmatic duties are indirect services. These are typically things that are not reimbursed by the insurance companies. Please note this is a draft guideline
Program modification including reviewing graphs and other data
Developing new programs for targets and updating data collection systems
Collaboration with program director and other team members
Gathering, cleaning, and making materials (check in with program director to streamline this process)
Collaboration with schools and other community members outside of H0032 and 99366 or 99368
Interviewing and hiring
Staff meetings
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares for and conducts intake sessions which includes evaluations, skills assessments and developing treatment plans, as indicated by the Clinical Director
Provides 1:1 ABA therapy services in accordance to plans approved by the Clinical Director
Tests, evaluates, documents, and graphs/charts learner progress in targeted areas
Assists, develops, and/or maintains learner programs and behavior intervention plans appropriate for each learner’s needs, as approved by the Clinical Director
Conducts parent meetings and trainings, and prepares and distributes clinical parent correspondence and communications, as approved by the Clinical Director
Provides ABA therapy supervision, training, troubleshooting assistance, and mentoring for therapy staff (RBTS)
Attends meetings at schools or in the community or with other service providers to collaborate with the care team, as indicated by the Program Director
Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in applied behavior analysis, special education and related fields
Performs other duties as assigned
Adheres to professional and legal requirements in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations and follows the ethical guidelines of the BACB.
Manages caseload and prepares and submits all required documentation on time.
Skills and Educational Requirements:
Master’s degree (or higher) in early childhood education/development, early childhood special education, special education, applied behavior analysis, psychology, or related field
BCBA certification
Experience providing ABA supervision, training, and oversight to RBT’s. Experience managing and overseeing all aspects of program operations that are related to providing treatment to children with special needs. Experience conducting skill and behavioral assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, FBA, PFA-SBT, etc.)
Knowledgeable of methodologies found to benefit children with ASD, including ABA
Familiar with the field of early intervention, and knowledgeable of other community resources and agencies that serve children
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Sound judgment and decision-making skills, while able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations; follows ethical guidelines
Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment.
Must obtain the Washington State Department of Health Licensed Behavior Analyst license
Must pass Washington State background check which may include FBI fingerprint background check
Must have proof of U.S. citizenship or right to work
Moderate to advanced computer skills (MS Office applications; google drive)
Ability to work independently.
Ability to meet timelines
Obtain and maintain CPR certification
Skills and Educational Preferred:
Knowledge, training and experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Knowledge, training and experience with Positive Behavior Assessment and Skill Based Training
Understanding of Accent as a critical component of ABA Therapy

Inter-relationships:
The BCBA is responsible for maintaining relationships with many people; working directly with the Clinical Director to receive guidance regarding therapy services and clinical needs of the program. Frequent contacts may include managers, coworkers, participants and supporters, funding partners, therapy staff, and the community at large. The BCBA must have the ability to work effectively and positively with parents and to have a positive relationship with families, children, and staff from diverse backgrounds. BCBA should be able to give and receive feedback from peers and supervisory staff.

Working Conditions:
Most duties will be carried out in the family’s home and community. This job involves frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting, running, and sitting. Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading of toys and materials up to 25 lbs., and manage children up to small adult size. May be subjected to aggressive behaviors by clients and may need to provide personal care as needed. Traveling to families’ homes, community locations and other program sites is a key component of this job. Transporting clients is not allowed. Office work is typically conducted in the home office.
Needed Attributes:
The BCBA must be able to effectively communicate with many different types of people. Flexibility, patience, willingness to travel to visits, and organizational skills are imperative.

The RBT will provide skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities (ages 1 to 18 years old) in the home and community settings under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
The RBT will collect data on programs, assist with parent training, and assist the BCBA as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA.
Utilize safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Assist BCBA with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments.
Preparing client materials as instructed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, BCBA, and other co-workers.
Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.

Basic & Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in a Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites.
Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s License and insurance in good standing.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required, Associate or College Degree preferred
Must complete Registered Behavior Technician training and pass the RBT examination Prior to starting work
Initial 40-hour course work, background check, CPR course, and RBT certification test are all paid for. Ongoing training is required and covered by Olympic ABA.
